caves
So make your siren's call and sing all you want, I will not hear what you have to say. Cause I need freedom now and I need to know how to live my life as it's meant to be. And I will hold on hope and I won't let you choke, on the noose around your neck. And I'll find strength in pain and I will change my ways. I'll know my name as it's called again.

On the floor at the great divide with my shirt tucked in and my shoes untied, I am crying in the bathroom. In the morning when you finally go and the nurse runs in with her head hung low, and the cardinal hits the window. In the morning in the winter shade, on the first of March, on the holiday - I thought I saw you breathing
All the glory that the Lord has made and the complications when I see His face, in the morning in the window. All the glory when He took our place, but He took my shoulders and He shook my face, and He takes and He takes and He takes.
All the glory that the Lord has made and the complications when I see His face, in the morning in the window. All the glory when He took our place, but He took my shoulders and He shook my face, and He takes and He takes and He takes.

to make it all a little more tolerable
Your eyes were big as they rolled like dice and your stomach was filled with poison like mine. Your palms are sweaty and beating to the music and I'm across the room with my heart on my arm, but I'm wearing sleeves. My eyes are smooth like glass and my head is twirling around the room like birds above my head. Bodies move like dancers, only less graceful and more gracious and their eyes are covered with a mask they applied hours earlier.
The only thing keeping me here is the danger of leaving. We're all alone and trying to fight our way out of the dark. Tonight we're all fighting the same way. And it doesn't matter what progress we make or how far we go in, because we're all sleeping alone tonight, whether we're in someone else's arms or not. At least, that's the way it feels for me and as I look at you from across the room and you're grinning because of what's inside of you - I feel like you feel that way, too.

How do I talk about you, without really talking about you?
How do I need you, without really needing you?
How do I love, if I can't

How do I love, if I can't

"So long everything!" he shouted, then he ran next door to Margot's house. "I'm moving," he said.
"Where?" asked Margot.
"Two weeks away," said Mitchell.
"Where is that?" asked Margot.
"It's everywhere I will be after I walk for two weeks," said Mitchell, "I have lived in the same place for a long time, it is time for me to go some place else."
"No." said Margot, "You have only lived next door for fifteen years."
"Sixteen," said Mitchell.
"Fifteen...sixteen, what's the difference?" said Margot, "I want you to stay next door forever."
"I can't," said Mitchell, " I do not want to go wake up in the same old bed and eat breakfast in the same old kitchen. Every room in my house is the same old room, because I have lived there too long. "
"And you look at me and think, same old face, same old tail, same old scale, same old walk, same old talk, same old Margot,"
"No," said Mitchell, "I like your face, tail, scale, walk, and talk.”
”I like you."
"I like you too," said Mitchell. He walked through the door.
"I must pack," he said.

I know it's been quoted so many times, and will be quoted again, and again and again for many times to come, but the fact that it's so universal just makes it all the more powerful. I love that man and his beautiful mind and soul.
